In order for you to know the true content of beauty products, it is important to be able to identify the ingredients. You should always read the labels when shopping for the best skin care products.
Always remember that not every product that has the word natural on its label is really natural. There are many ingredients to look for and many to avoid. I will start with the ones to look for that are beneficial to your skin.
Omega-3 and omega-6. These are essential fatty acids which a healthy skin needs. Your body does not make them on its own, so you can only get them from the food you eat. These fatty acids helps in producing the skin's natural barrier, which is critical in keeping skin hydrated, plumper and youngger looking.
Antioxidants which are natural substances made up of vitamins and minerals. They are able to fight free radical, which are unstable components that attack human cells and damage DNA.If the skin is damage, it can lead to aging in form of wrinkles, dry skin, dark circles around the eye, pale skin and more.
Antioxidants that show to repair damage and slow aging process includes:
Acai oil. This may fight off aging by healing sun damages and smoothing wrinkles.
Retinol. This vitamin A is a proven anti aging antioxidant. It is a topical ingredient that promotes collagen production, improves the skin color and reduces mottled patches on the skin.
Coenzyme Q-10. Your body naturally produces this to naturalize free radicals in cell. However, as you age the level of C0Q-10 goes down. It helps reduce wrinkles around the eyes.
Some ingredients to avoid are as follow:
Petroleum-based. This includes petrolatum, mineral oil, and paraffin which block your skin and coat it like plastic, thus clogging the pores.
Alcohol derivatives. This includes ethanol, ethyl alcohol, methanol, benzyl alcohol and more. All these derived from petroleum which are extremely drying and irritating to the skin.
Parabens. This ingredient acts like estrogen and kill living organisms when enter the bloodstream.
Fragrances such as musk can cause photosensitivity too. However, it is OK to use fragrances that derived from essential oils.
Your skin describes the best so you should give it nothing less. There are skin care products out there that have all that your skin needs to achieve a youngger and better look. You just have to be careful when choosing the right one.
