So let's get to how to lose weight with protein shakes. The main goal of this article is to act as a guide to change your daily habit of over consuming bad calories. The over consumption of bad calories is what leads to the extra fat on your body.
For your daily diet you do not want to starve yourself. Sure you will lose weight short term but your metabolism slows down making it harder and harder to lose weight. The trick is to increase your metabolism by feeding your body with nutrient rich calories and spreading your meals out into smaller meals through out the day. I can testify to this method and it works.
You will want to have 4 to 6 meals a day. I know that sounds like a lot but it really is not as much as you think. You are having 4 to 6 small meals a day. Each portion is not bigger than your hand. When you are spreading your meals out into this many meals throughout the day your body does not have a chance to generate the food cravings and send the signal to your brain to stop and get that burger and fries and you feel full and at peace and hunger tranquility. OK maybe that is stretching it a little, but you do feel full all day long. For me normally I am not even hungry by the 6th meal and half the time do not even eat it. My meals are spread out every 2 to 3 hours.
Here is an example daily meal plan
1. 8 AM – Shake
2. 10 AM – packet of oatmeal
3. 12 PM – Shake
4. 2 PM – Large Apple / Banana
5. 4 PM – Shake
6. 6 PM – tuna salad
With each of the meal plans for the day you are going to replace 2 to 3 of these meals with a protein shake. Each of the shakes is loaded with vitamins, minerals and most importantly a high quality protein. What happens to your body when you take in protein is a process called diet induced thermogenesis. This is what increases your metabolism because the high nutrient protein shake does not break down as easy as fatty or carbohydrate saturated foods. So your body is effectively trying to digest the protein throughout the day and this requires more energy to process the protein. Your metabolism has increased without you knowing it or doing much except changing what you are eating and how often. Normally each shake might have about 200 to 300 vitamin and protein rich calories. So make sure you chose a protein shake that does not have excessive calories or carbohydrates. This excessive calories and carbs will derail your dieting goals.
For your other meals I normally eat something small. Something that fits in the palm of your hand is your body's ideal proportion. Such as a small tuna salad, an apple or banana, a baked potato with fat free cheese and spray butter or sprinkle butter.
I normally follow this eating pattern for 6 days and then on the 7th day I eat whatever my heart desires. I use it as a rewards day.
To help speed up the fat burning process during these 6 days of this diet program I add 20 to 30 minutes of some type of cardio or weight resistance. I normally rotate this 3 days of cardio and 3 days of resistance training.
For the cardio I normally just do a brisk walk around the neighborhood for 30 minutes say Monday, Wednesday and Friday. For the resistance training I normally just do something like lunges, pushups, sit-ups to build up some lean muscle. You do not even have to go to a gym.[ad_2]
