By now you should have a rough idea of your budget, location, food and of course your guests. Now with your theme in mind it's time for the next step. Party Essential time!
Food. Meals or Finger Foods?
Drinks. Is it BYO and you have the basics and soft drinks or are you the bar for the night?
So it's time to set the scene, are you having tables and chairs (meal type) for people to sit down and eat or is it more stand up with finger foods.
If you're having tables and chairs you should consider the following is the food on a bench and everyone helps themselves or is it on the table? This will give you an idea of the type of space you need. And also the number of tables and chairs required.
You will also need to consider tablecovers, plates, cups, napkins, and cutlery. ** Remember you need plates for cake too, so you may need to double.
Now because you are having a themed party (depending on your budget) are you going to theme your tableware or go a standard color eg white.
Now for the more exciting part, decorating !!! Here you will need to consider Balloons, If you want them? How Many? Designs? Helium? Ribbon? And anything else that crosses your mind.
If you are wanting helium balloons it may work out cheaper to hire a helium tank and DIY balloons, Of course this depends if you are willing to spend some quality time with your balloons.
Time for more decorating, so your decorating options include: garlands, cutouts, scene setters, doorway curtains, stickers, posters, silhouettes, hanging decorations, centerpieces for tables, banners and glow sticks are always a hit.
If you are not wanting to go over the top and keep decorating simple I suggest a few balloons, they add for a nice effect, centerpieces on tables, definitely cutouts for you wall and a few hanging decorations. Enough to add color to the room and bring out your theme for the night.
You should also consider whether you are going to have some games or music etc.
For games no matter what the type you can always tend to find a fitting game eg pirate theme pin the ax on the treasure map. Or toilet paper outifts, check out Google for more ideas.
For Music are you creating your own playlist and playing it through your sound system or are you hiring a juke box or a dj?
